Sorry if I’m being too bold… but I get frustrated thinking about all my Bootcamp ladies who used to be stuck in the pit of hopelessness and despair that diets and gyms can create for women desperately trying to lose weight. Let’s start with how I feel about fad diets…
You know we’ re RIGHT! C ome on… don’t feel inept, we’ve all attempted diets… we have all searched for the mystical diet that will make us drop pounds, look sexy, and feel great… in
stead we lose a few pounds, feel like crap, and look like we feel… then blow it and gain the weight right back. Then we feel worse than before we started the stupid diet. Nothing tastes better and feels worse than eating that first piece of junk food after dieting for a couple of weeks
They don’t work because eating is something you have to be comfortable with. When we think of a “Diet” we think of something temporary… when you are eating normal… you don’t tell your friends “I’m on a diet…” Right? When you tell your friends you are “on a diet” it is usually brought up like bad news… “Sorry Sue, I can’t eat that, I’m on a diet…”
We will show you how to make your “normal” eating healthier and introduce you to a NEW permanent LIFESTYLE of Fitness in Nashville that you will LOVE!
NO MOTIVATION – Going by yourself to the gym is simply not motivating. You need someone to hold you accountable and help keep you going.
BORING – Sure, it’s fun and new for the first month but soon all those weights and machines aren’t so cool or neat… there are only so many ways to climb a stair master or run on a treadmill for fitness… it is LAME… and you are paying money for it! But at least you can watch the soap operas on the TVs with the subtitles…
NO DIRECTION – Going to the gym without active goals is like trying to cook a meal without the recipe… just because you have the ingredients, doesn’t mean the food is going to come out good!
Before you do a single training session with us, We’re going to personally interview you, create a personalized portfolio for you, and go over what benefits you are seeking to gain. Our fitness program caters to ALL women… whether you are wanting to shed some pounds, gain cardio endurance, develope tone, increase energy levels, improve health, or just have fun, we can help you. You can count on us being there to help you every step of the way.
What is the portfolio? Every lady in our Bootcamp has different long and short term fitness goals. Some ladies have prior and current injuries. Some ladies have personal information I need to know. All of this goes into a folder – so that we are on the same page and can work together more efficiently. If you ask most gyms for your “portfolio” – all they probably have is a folder with your contract in it! We believe the only true way to improve fitness in Nashville in to hold individuals accountable for their fitness goals.
It is also during this interview that we go over your current eating habits. We cover what foods you like and dislike. From there, depending on your weight, body fat percentage, measurements, and other factors, we make nutritional suggestions for you! Remember, it is not a “Diet” but a new lifestyle that you can keep for the rest of your life!
Did we say measurements and body fat percentage? Yes we did. We start with a physical assessment during your initial interview. We do a series of basic physical tests, like how many push-ups you can do in a minute, how many sit-ups you can do in a minute, etc. Then when you come to you first class as an actual cadet, we also take your weight, measurements, height, and use calipers to measure your body fat percentage. And all these numbers go into your portfolio.
So twelve weeks later, we do all the same measurements and fitness tests again and…
“When I first came to Nashville MMA in late 2009 I was a successful high school softball player. I had seen some MMA fights on TV and wanted to be a superstar fighter. I had the passion and athletic ability but there were a few major hurdles. One, I didn’t really know how to fight and more importantly I was way to out of shape and overweight. My trainers suggested I start training in the cardio kickboxing “kick” class. It absolutely kicked my butt. I thought I was in decent shape from softball, but I quickly learned otherwise. Within two weeks the soreness wore off and I could feel the transformation begin. I began to feel a new energy. Best of all, I lost 60 pounds in six months. I look great! Now, I am in the best shape of my life. I train in the regular martial arts classes to train for my fights, and I’m undefeated as a fighter. I never could have got so far so fast if it wasn’t for the cardio “kick” bootcamp. They set the bar for fitness in Nashville.”
